Current Events
If you have access to a computer, newspaper, television, or radio there is no reason for you to not be up-to-date with the news. There is always a way to find out about local, national, and international news especially if you have a computer! Below I have made it very simplistic for you to access scholarly news sites. Social studies is the study of society - you should be taking an in depth look at two news article a day.

Another weekly assignment that you are going to have to do is to read at a minimum of 3 news articles a week and write one spew per news article. Your spew is to be a minimum of one page and has to be insightful - be creative and throw your personality and opinions into all of your spews.

Extra credit will be given to those who choose to hand in more than 3 news articles each week.

Baltimore Sun
Washington Post
New York Times
Seattle Times
Chicago Tribune
The World News
CNN
MSN
European News
The Morning Call

To enhance your current event assignments I have created a blog for you to post comments on throughout the week. Your posts can be about what you found interesting within your article or you can make comments about your classmates article posts. Click the link below to enter the blog - but first you will have to register for blogster.com . Do not worry, it is free and easy to sign up.
